A three-week summer school that compared Ursula K Le Guin’s essay The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction with London’s financial district, Canary Wharf. Through photography, writing and object-making students developed observations that gave recognition to the unsung heroes and everyday characters of the city. The programme ended in an exhibition of texts and objects, and a small publication holding these thoughts loosely together.
